These sweet animals are settling in beautifully, but providing them with the care, love, and safe home they deserve requires significant time and resources. ๐‘ถ๐’–๐’“ ๐‘ช๐’๐’“๐’ ๐‘ด๐’‚๐’›๐’†!

Stay tuned as we share our progress in preparing the grounds for proper drainage, seeding, and the growth of our corn as we approach The Plattโ€™s Patch Family Fall Festival! I will be providing updates with photos and information along the way. While it takes a great deal of effort to bring everything together, the process is both rewarding and excitingโ€”especially when we see our community, family, and friends come out to enjoy the maze! 08/10/2025 The ground has been fully prepared for this yearโ€™s corn maze. We began by tilling the soil and incorporating fertilizer, followed by GPS leveling to create a 5-inch grade from the north side down to the south. This slope will help ensure proper drainage during heavy rains, preventing the flooding issues we experienced last year. After a significant storm confirmed there was no standing water, we proceeded with planting. 08/12/2025 Using the planter, we sowed the corn in a crosshatch pattern, which will create a denser stand rather than straight rowsโ€”perfect for a more challenging maze. Now, we wait for the corn to sprout and keep our fingers crossed for a hurricane-free season. 08/19/2025 We have baby corn sprouting!
